Ordinary soul for sale

I must have closed my eyes at the sign
Looked away and doubted what stood before me
My soul was for sale, and it was ordinary
Not great and wild like a wolf
Not free and loud like a bird
But ordinary as if to discredit me
There must have been a mistake
I live my life without holding back
I climbed all the mountains
Conquered my fear of life
And I lived proudly
As if each day was my last
How could I have been ordinary
When I finally felt like I belong
And that’s when it hit me
I had lived all my life to be accepted
Never to be the exception to the rule
I was an ordinary soul for sale
