Hello again. I have returned from the dead and I am very happy to present to you this week’s detox.
Can you guess what it might be?
If you said water then my friend you are a genius and deserve an award. Water is more important to our bodies than we think. Not like we haven’t notice that it makes up a good bit of who we are as people.
The Benefits of Water
- Water helps you to detox your body.
- It helps to improve your skin and can even help with acne.
- Water fills you up so you aren’t as hungry.
- If you spend more time drinking water you will have less time to get into drama because you will be in the bathroom peeing.
- Water can actually help your gut health.
- Water helps you to lose weight if you drink the right amount.
How Much Water Should You Be Drinking?
It is recommended that you drink 8 glasses of water per day. This can be a true or false statement depending who you ask. Eight glasses of water per day bring the total to around half a gallon of water. There others who say that you should drink water based on your height and weight, while some even go as far as to say that you should drink 2.7 liters of water per day if you are a woman and 3.7 liters of water per day if you are a man.
If you really want help calculating your required water intake then you can talk to your dietitian and they can give you a much better estimate than I would ever be able to. One tool I use to help me calculate not only my water intake but also my macros and calories is Poundaweek. It’s a nice app, with a free and paid version. I have used both and while the paid version gives you more information at the end of the day I really didn’t see that big of a difference.
The Big Idea
Drinking water is the original detox and is still a good idea. Will you only need to drink water for you to look and feel better? Well no. You would have to change what you eat and how we think about food. With choosing to drink more water each day you will start to feel a little better. It may just be a small step now but it will make a huge difference later on. So for the next two weeks try getting at least 50 ounces (1.5 liters) of water a day and move up from there.
As always my friends, stay happy, stay healthy and keep moving forward.
Great post 😁
