Sunday Self Care: It’s Okay If You’re Not Celebrating Today

The holiday season isn’t always a happy one.

I used to celebrate Christmas each year, but now it is just another day when the world is quiet for a few hours. At first, I felt guilty, and thought to myself, maybe I should have made an effort to get together with friends or see my parents.

But now, I know it’s okay if I don’t celebrate today. However, here’s what I do hope you end up doing.

  • Eat a good breakfast. Something delicious.
  • Soak in the tub if you have one.
  • Light yourself candles and put on some music.
  • Do something that makes you happy. (And that is good for you.)

You don’t have to celebrate today, but take time to rest and recuperate.

The seasons may come and go, but the moments of contentment you experience will help you remember the beauty of life.
