Phantom Speakeasy

Phantom speakeasy
Rhyming off reason
Laying victim to the dark

Tell me
When has the world ever listened to your plea
Eloquent soliloquy fallen on deaf ears

No sign of relief
Distant screaming
Tearing away at my sadness

Phantom speakeasy
Disturbing the silence
Loud sounds in a quiet room

Breaking down my walls of grandeur
Mundane thoughts plague me
The common tongue bears its fangs

Sweet, sickening slumber
Carrying the dead away
A frenzy and a parade

Tell me
Where do  the specters go
That binds my light
