The Beating of a Drum

In the hollow of the tree

Lives the beating of a drum

Tip tap it goes all night long

When the leaves tend to fall

It beats a little louder, a little faster than before

This tip tap tapping at my door

And when the moon rises

To greet the father sky

It beats a rhythm louder than the cry of a new spring

After winter has quelled its strumming

This tapping tip topping

Go Ra-pa-pum-pum

Oh the beating of a drum

In the hollow of a tree

This drum goes tip top tapping

Just for me
