Broken Goodbyes

Say goodbye in a broken language

On twisted lips

That have lost their luster

Keep the words coming

Fumbling over each other to escape the captivity of your lungs

Tell me goodbye in hushed whispers

Behind closed doors away from your lover

Sweetness permeates the air

Clouds my judgement

Let slivers of light in

Give hope to the fallen

To the destitute and lifeless

Victim who comes to pay respect to the dead

He said goodbye in a broken language

Laying flowers on a grave head

Only to watch them fade

Falter in the wind

Become undone

Let this goodbye be the last one
