Unrequited Love

I want to feel the romance of a lonely soul

To kiss lips that hate the touch

To hold a hand that wants nothing to do with me

If I screamed I love you

Your down cast eyes would never look my way

Unrequited love

Painful rejection

I’m stuck in this place of hope and loving

If I were you lover

I would only bring you tears of joy

Make you whisper sweet songs in my ear

You would laugh with the sun

Sing with the moon

And dance among the stars

But reality isn’t so kind

When you have an unrequited love like mine
