Forgotten Dreams

He’ll fall asleep holding my hand

Hanging on for dear life

Refusing to let go

For fear that I might never return

So he’ll hold on

Squeezing tightly as each day goes by

Pretending that he’s alright

He’ll give up his dream

And forget his fate

As long as you hold his hand

You’ll go no further than you are right now

You’ll be lost in his greed

So do you dare to let go

Free a man from his ghost

Or do you hold on in hopes of drowning in his eyes

His wings can no longer fly

Why love a drowning man

Why care for his soul

Because love

Is much deeper than gold
