The Immortals of War

Tell them that this is war

Where I lay my soul down

To die a death not worth having

Is this where we bleed

Gone silent are the war cries

No more running of horses

Who was it that said

War was glorious

Well tell that to the dead

Who died in the arms of sacrifice

As the bullets rained down

And their cries rose

Who was the one who told them they were immortal

They would live on in the hearts of men

Well men forget and the war never ends

What immortal men remember

The dead

A close friend

All forgotten once a bullet hit the head
