Mending of the Heart

An empty heart still beats in the night

When the cold wind blows through our mind

I forget the warmth of your touch

The tenderness of who you used to be

Before me lies a man I fail to recognize

But his soul seems familiar

Staggered breath

Blood shot eyes can’t see the vision

Forgive me

I was blinded by my pride

Didn’t see you changing with the mirror in my eyes

I have failed

To consider your own desire

Whether to fly away or stay close to me

My love

My heart beats but for you

My mind seeks to deny such a fact

Forgive me in my ignorance and take my heart once more

It is yours if you desire a heart

That knows no other

Than your flawed soul
