Day 9: 30 Days of Yoga with Down Dog

Meditation at sunset

WOOHOO!! I made it to the ninth day. I am so proud of myself right now.

Today, rather than stretch beyond the bounds of physics, I decided to do a small meditation session followed by light stretching. I spent 20 minutes trying to find peace of mind and hearing my stomach accuse me of treason, I think I finally feel like I am doing this thing right.

The best news of all is that I can touch my toes now. I don’t think you understand how great that is for me. I have not been able to reach my toes in years! I can now feel my sweet little nubs. 🙂

I know I am not the best at meditation, and my mind finds it hard to shut up or follow a single line of thought before it goes flying off to look at squirrels, but I did an excellent job today. I didn’t let my inability to focus prevent me from trying my best to be calm and in the moment. A negative aspect would be that I could feel all the pain that I was ignoring. As a result, I may have ended up with a clear mind for a few minutes, but my Fibromyalgia flared up as well.

No worries, the rewards outweigh the setbacks.

As always my friends, stay healthy, stay happy, and keep moving forward.

Congratulations on being able to touch your toes. When I first returned to yoga five years ago i couldn’t touch my toes. So I know that’s a big deal. Keep up the good work.
