You’ll Say You’ve Changed

You’ll tell me that you’ve changed
That what you said was a mistake
That you didn’t mean to hurt me this time
That you are proud of the person I have become
You’ll tell me you love me
And I’ll forget the things that you have done
I’ll forget the words you said
The bruises you left
I’ll take you back
And put you on a pedestal
I’ll worship the ground you walk on
And when I’m comfortable…
You break me like all the times before
You’ll tell I’m worthless
That I will never find love
That my existence was a mistake
You’ll realize
That I could never be perfect for you
You’ll see the scars
The bruises
The missing pieces of my heart
Then you’ll leave me
Lost in my delusion that you could ever love me
But not this time
I won’t respond
I won’t open your letters you sent
This time
I’ll burn the memory of you
I will tell you farewell
