Cumin to My Room

Hello you lovely people!

How are you doing this weekend? I want to take the time to tell you that you are a ray of sunshine. Did you need to hear that? No? Yes?

Well it’s out there now for whoever needs it.

I actually wanted to take a moment to talk to you about one of my favorite spices: Cumin. So you see the bad pun in the beginning makes perfect sense. Or at least to me it does.

Cumin like many of the spices in the world originate from the Mediterranean shores and Egypt. In modern times, cumin has become a widely used spice in Mexican dishes. Cumin is also a part of many Asian cultures and cooking.

A cup of hot tea

One of the detox on our blog is basically adding cumin to hot water and letting it steep for a few minutes (Jeera Detox). It has a really unique taste and it’s good for bloating, constipation, and just overall health. I tried it for a week and my system did feel better.

There are plenty of things you could do with a little cumin in your kitchen.

Add cumin to chili, stews of spicy meat, marinades barbecue, and sauces. To create an easy south – of – the – border accent, stir toasted cumin into a maize muffin batter. In olive oil, heat cumin and garlic and chop over cooked vegetables or potatoes.

I am starting to stick to my schedule so you can look forward to a new spice every Friday. Maybe I’ll call it “Spicy Friday”.

As always my friends, stay happy, stay healthy, and keep moving forward.
