Take a Breath and Find Joy

Balloons

Over the last few weeks, I have been leaning heavily towards relaxing, getting active, self-care, and a host of other things we should do if we want physical and emotional changes in our life.

And while this may sound like an introduction as to why you should do yoga, it isn’t. There are so many people out there who are looking for “Joy” or “Happiness” but are still unable to find it.

And the question really should be why is finding “Joy” so hard?

You see we qualify Joy as different things, to me, joy is eating delicious foods made by my family and friends in a setting filled with love and laughter. An open space where imperfection is acceptable and the love of God is known throughout the land.

To others, joy may be finding a new job or finding a job in general. Joy can take on so many forms and at times changes from what we wanted yesterday.

Find the Simplest Definition of Joy

In order to find joy, simplify the meaning. Instead of it meaning contentment in your job, or looking for that one individual to love you. Change that definition and let it start with yourself.

There are so many things in the world that you have no control over and at times that can be terrifying. The fear of your own lack of control should not stop you. Be content in who you are becoming, just like the rest of the world, you are changing each and every day.

You are not the same person you were yesterday and that’s a good thing. Change, be better, evolve just like a pokemon but more humanlike. Taking the time to slow down and realize that you are a wonderful part of a great experiment called life and you are allowed to make mistakes.

Be flawed, be wrong, screw up royally and then grow from it. Don’t fall for the same thing twice, make new mistakes.

When you stop worrying about the small stuff you will realize that somewhere along the line you started to find and define what makes you happy and what makes you joyous.

And for my own pride and ego, I kinda hope that’s me some days. Anyway if you like this article and want others like it let me know. I am working with a wonderful group of bloggers for the month of March so be sure to check out their blogs below and show them some love and support.

As always my friends, stay healthy, stay happy and keep moving forward.

Thanks for sharing. Some times we take pleasure in what others might find nothing pleasurable in. What matters is that we live up ourselves to our own standards and be confidently happy.
