The Regret

In the depths of my farewell
My regrets begins to rise
It was a silly joke
To think love was mine
For all the burden in time
Hope now lays in a casket
And I am still among the living
You left
In such a rush
As if tired of the living
Now you’re decorated
In the flowers you hated
In a world full of contradictions
You were my favorite
And the one I detest
Now you lay
In the ground
What’s fair in your absence
The beating heart beats no more
All that you have left me with
Is this regret
This burning ache in my chest
