Hope for Tomorrow

I look for the light

Crave for it

My thoughts have been derailed

The train has lost its course

This worry I feel

I wear it like a second skin

Closer to me than a kin

I am sinking

Dying

Drowning

Destitute and alone

Waiting for the medication to kick in

My hands have begun to shake

Murmurs rise from my throat now

The doubt sets in

Did I do it right?

My heart starts to race

Dying

Drowning

Destitute and alone

The feelings don’t change

My soul is crying

Please help me, for I am lost

I am scared of the dark

It clings to me

Claws at my heart

The little light I have left

Can not survive through the night

When dawn comes

Will the darkness leave me?

Will the light return?

Will hope find its way back to me?

Will my heart once more know of truth and not despair?

My little light will lead me to the dawn

My redemption is at hand

I must hope on tomorrow’s present

  1. I love poems! Someone told me that people start writing poems when they are in love; or when they lose love!
May you find your “tomorrow” : )
