A Garlic Detox?

Garlic is a thing of beauty. If you are like me then you can have garlic in the majority of your food including but not limited to breakfast. And why not? Garlic is good for your system. It helps you fight against cold and you will definitely need that extra protection this flu season.

Even though I love garlic and I am not okay with my breath smelling like I just wrapped my face with the waste of the underworld. But fear not for I have found several ways to overcome this obstacle. There are a few things you can do if you don’t want to scare away your neighbors with that garlic breath.

Brush your teeth regularly and eat other things with your garlic intake. Now if you have never had garlic in your smoothie or detox this can be a bit of a wake-up call for you. Garlic boiled gives off an almost sugary taste but if you blend it raw it has an acidic taste to it. To cut down on the garlic feedback I like to use banana, not only is it good for starting your day off, it also has a powerful enough taste and aroma to partially mask the smell of garlic.

I’ll be very honest with you this one is not for the faint of heart. You will either love this one or you don’t. Either you like the acidic kick of garlic mixed with banana or you don’t. And it’s perfectly fine if you don’t like it. You won’t like everything in the world and that’s normal.

I don’t like all the different foods I’ve tried and why would I? I was raised differently, I like my food with a nice kick and a bit of spice. Some of my friends don’t like spicy things and that’s fine. I will eat their spicy food and they will eat my sweet food. It’s a win-win situation.

In this detox, which I’ll be honest it does taste a lot like a smoothie. This is probably due to the fruit I added. I wanted the consistency to really balance out the flavor of the overall detox. If you want a cold detox then you can cut up the fruits beforehand and place them in the freezer.

So try this one on for size and let us know what you think. Also if you want to follow us on twitter you can now slide into our DMS and ask us questions or just talk about food in general. @Spiceandnnn
